Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 07/30/26

Coffee Chats is working to make our web products usable by people with disabilities. This page explains our current status, how we test, and how to report barriers. It is not a WCAG conformance claim.

Conformance status

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA for in-scope web surfaces where feasible. We have not completed a full conformance evaluation and do not claim WCAG 2.1 AA conformance for any product surface at this time.

We do not use accessibility overlay widgets as a substitute for remediation.

In-scope surfaces

• Student web app (coffeechats.me)

• Sign-in and account recovery flows

• Booking client (meet.coffeechats.me)

• Institution portal (tenant subdomains)

• Critical transactional emails (templates we control)

How we test

Automated checks use axe-core in CI against public legal pages and, when a local stack is available, against portal and dashboard entry points. Serious and critical axe findings fail the gate. Manual keyboard and screen-reader testing (VoiceOver, NVDA) is in progress for priority flows and is logged under our internal accessibility program.

Known limitations

Some interactive AI and dense dashboard views may still have keyboard, focus, or labeling gaps. Third-party embeds and user-authored email content are outside our full control. A VPAT/ACR is on our roadmap as a draft artifact until criteria are honestly completed and approved for external share.

Feedback and assistance

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, email accessibility@coffeechats.me with the page URL, what you were trying to do, assistive technology if relevant, and your preferred contact method. We aim to acknowledge within five business days.

Mailbox monitoring setup is an operational checklist item. Until that is confirmed, reports may also be sent to privacy@coffeechats.me with "Accessibility" in the subject line.
