# Coffee Chats

> Coffee Chats is the relationship platform for universities. Students find the right alumni at their target companies, send outreach that sounds like them, and turn a 15-minute conversation into a referral. Career services and advancement teams get privacy-safe, aggregate insight into the alumni engagement that activity creates.

Coffee Chats covers the whole arc of a networking relationship in one workspace: discovery, personalized outreach, booking, preparation, the live conversation, and follow-through. It is sold self-serve to individuals and per sponsored seat to universities.

Key facts:

- Outreach is sent from the user's own Gmail account over OAuth, never from a Coffee Chats domain. Coffee Chats never stores a user's Gmail password.
- Nothing sends automatically. Every draft is reviewed and approved by the user before it goes out.
- Billing runs on "Coffee credits." One credit covers one contact's entire outreach lifecycle: discovery, research, the initial email, and up to two automated follow-ups. On paid plans, meeting prep, post-call insights, thank-you drafts, and todos are bundled into that same credit. Storing contacts spends no credits.
- Plans: Starter (free, 25 lifetime credits), Pro ($20/month, 150 credits/month), Premium ($100/month, 750 credits/month, or $900/year). Pro and Premium can buy extra credits at $0.20 each.
- Institution analytics are aggregate and k-anonymized: counts are rounded into buckets and suppressed below a minimum cohort size. The portal reports how many alumni were reached, never which ones, and never the content of a student's message.
- Coffee Chats does not do donor scoring, giving propensity, gift-pipeline attribution, or CRM sync. It reports alumni engagement, which is a different claim from fundraising attribution.
- It is not a mass-email or LinkedIn-automation tool. The product is built around a small number of quality conversations, not volume.
